
OUR HERITAGE - JACKSON
The oldest known Jackson is Frank Jackson. He was born around 1855 in Mississippi. Frank worked as a field laborer for most of his adult life. His father was born in Missouri and his mother was born in Tennessee. Frank Jackson met and married Clora McNeal. Clora's father was born on the border of North Carolina and Virginia and her mother was born in Tennessee. According to the 1880 census they lived in Grenada, Mississippi with their two sons, Washington and Gouldin. Sadly, Gouldin did not survive past 10 years old. By 1900, the family moved to Quitman County, Mississippi. The Jackson family now included seven living children named Washington, General, Kato, Martha, Europe, Weddie and a daughter named Golden.
Europe Jackson married Rosa Lee Jackson. Their children are Martha, Corinne, Mary, Nora, Weddie and Beatrice.
Kato Jackson married Mattie Kelley. Their children are Frank, Robert, James, Golden, Hattie, Irene, E.Q., J.D., Clora, Emma and Kato Jr.
Golden Jackson married Andrew Milton. Their children are Callie, Ebb, Eva and A.C.
Weddie Jackson and Mary Jane Proctor married and lived in Vance, Mississippi. The children of Weddie and Mary Jane are Europe, Weddie, Arletha, Corine, Elizabeth, Ida, Charlie, Willie, Eddie, L. C., Luther and Teresa.


OUR HERITAGE - PROCTOR
The oldest known Proctor is Ed Proctor. He was born around 1865 in Mississippi. Ed was a laborer for the Taylor family in Brandon, Mississippi in Rankin county in 1880. His father was born in North Carolina and his mother was born in Mississippi. Ed Proctor met and married Lizzie Knight. They migrated north by way of Washington, Coahoma and settled in Quitman county, Mississippi. The couple raised 12 children. Their names were Clarence, Elizabeth, Dan (Buck), Clotee, Flora, Ida, Charles, James, Robert, Warnita, Ed Jr. and Mary Jane.
Dan (Buck) Proctor married Annie Mae Williams. Their children are James, David Lee and Jessie Mae.
Flora Proctor married Bennie Hale, Jr. in Clarksdale, MS. Bennie Jr. was the son of Bennie Hale I and Adeline Jones, the daughter of an Alabama slave owner named Jones. He was the grandson of slave owner, Bennie Hale and an unknown slave woman. Bennie Jr. later married Claudine Austin in Clarksdale, MS.
The children of Bennie Jr. and Flora are Mary B, Vanilla, Bennie III, Mary Lee, Lottie, Elizabeth, Flora Lee, Eddie Lee, Jack, Katie Mae, Clara and Alex.
Clotee Proctor married Clifton Wiley. Their children are Hardie, Mannie, Cliff, Bonnie and Eddie.
Elizabeth Proctor married Frank Bluntson. Their children are Emma, Ossie Lee and Frank Jr.
Mary Jane Proctor married Weddie Jackson and lived in Vance, Mississippi. The children of Weddie and Mary Jane are Europe, Weddie, Arletha, Corine, Elizabeth, Ida, Charlie, Willie, Eddie,
L. C., Luther and Teresa.
